Attention & Executive Function in Adults

At Mind Cafe NP we recognize that many adults struggle with persistent difficulties in attention, organization, and mental overload that were never fully evaluated earlier in life. These patterns are sometimes related to attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). but they may also have overlapping symptoms similar to anxoety, trauma history or with mood disorders.

Our evaluation focuses on understanding the clinical picture. We look at the person’s developmental history often sought from historical records and or collaterals, assessment scales, socio executive functioning patterns and emotional regulation patterns. This assessment ties in with the overlaps in co occurring illnesses that may alter mood and often presents as identity crisis, high achiever but struggles privately.

When appropriate, treatment may include psychotherapy integration and medication strategies, following Mind a comprehensive assessment completed by Mind Cafe NP in Psychiatry. When clinically appropriate , objective digital assessment tools such as QB Tech may be used to complement the evaluation. This is an additional service provided by an independent vendor with an FDA approved medical technology to objectively assess core symptoms of ADHD. The cost of this service is not included in Mind Cafe NP in Psychiatry Service Fees. This test is used selectively and only when they add meaningful information to the clinical evaluation.
